State Highway One; Logwood + Kōwhai Flower
+ Inspired by the Lady Check dress silhouette, a vintage velvet gown, Potter Frock details and the glorious State Highway One. This dress made with purposeful salutes to the road, princess pleated sleeves, strong lines, PJ classic back welt opening with waist tie creates open natural pleats. Sweet hook loops and river shell buttons brought together at the front waist for definition and a natural front pleats. I machine embroidered, the neckline, hem and princess pleats on the sleeve with my newly brought secondhand PFAFF machine. I overdyed naturally once finished using Logwood and Kōwhai Flower.
This is a dress made for the vein of Aotearoa. Easy to pee in, easy to sweat in. An ode to movement and what it may bring. May we all move and be moved. Via four wheels.
