State Highway One; Kōwhai Flower

+ Naturally dyed with Kōwhai Flowers, a dress that is spring. The fabric was an old pair of curtains. Inspired by the Lady Check dress silhouette, a vintage velvet gown, Potter Frock details and the glorious State Highway One. This dress made with purposeful salutes to the road, princess pleated sleeves, strong lines, PJ classic back welt opening with waist tie creates open natural pleats. Sweet hook loops and river shell buttons brought together at the front waist for definition and a natural front pleats. Square neckline inspired by the negative of road lines from a birdseye view.

This is a dress made for the vein of Aotearoa. Easy to pee in, easy to sweat in. An ode to movement and what it may bring. May we all move and be moved. Via four wheels.
